STATEHOUSE- Representative Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) released the following statement today in response to the passage of HJR1, the constitutional amendment to permanently cap homeowner's property taxes. The measure passed the House by a vote of 75 to 23.

"It's encouraging that the House finally took the appropriate action on this important matter," said Rep. Soliday. "Hoosiers have been calling for the opportunity to vote on property tax caps and they should be afforded that opportunity. I'm confident that the citizens of this state are best equipped to determine if caps are the right course of action, and this November they'll likely have that chance."
