Indiana is full of opportunities for young students and job seekers to gain experience and prepare for meaningful careers. Whether through interactive programs, workforce initiatives or internships, Hoosiers can develop the confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in today's economy.
One example is the paid, full-time internship we offer in the Indiana House of Representatives. Students collaborate with an assigned group of staff and legislators while gaining skills in legislative operations, communications and policy. They also participate in a speaker series while interacting with constituents, state agencies and private organizations. The program is open to college students, recent graduates and students in graduate and law school.
Applications for the 2026 House internships are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
Internships and other workplace experiences are incredibly beneficial when pursuing a career. Students are trained to take on challenges, grow professionally and positively impact their communities. When talking to former House interns, the one thing they always mention is how much confidence they gained. They walk away knowing they can handle challenges and contribute in meaningful ways.
