Only a few days are left to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2026 legislative session. This is a unique opportunity for students to get hands-on experience while learning the ins and outs of the legislative process.
College students, recent graduates and students in graduate programs or law school are eligible for this three-month internship, running from January to March. Students earn biweekly pay and academic credit while developing transferable skills and making valuable connections. In this internship, students are not only doing real, meaningful work, but also meeting industry leaders and potential employers who can help launch their careers.
After being paired with a staff member, interns will contribute in a meaningful way to the day-to-day operations of session, from staffing committee meetings and researching policy to assisting constituents and working with the media. Within the program, students can choose between positions in legislative operations, communications and policy. Each position will provide interactive experience with legislative and communications professionals as well as trainings in their respective areas of operation.
The Oct. 31 application deadline is approaching fast. Applications can be found on the Indiana House Republicans website under student opportunities. Students should be prepared to provide a resume, references and a recent writing sample during the application process.
