Centerville resident named Golden Hoosier

Sandra Rans Rowe recognized for service to the community

STATEHOUSE (June 25, 2018) — Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch presented a Golden Hoosier Award to Sandra Rans Rowe of Centerville at the Statehouse Thursday for her service and commitment to the community, according to State Rep. Dick Hamm (R-Richmond) and State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond).

“Public servants like Sandra are a vital part of our community,” Hamm said. “Her commitment to the organizations around Wayne County have made a positive impact. I commend her on all that she has done and continues to do for our area.”

An exceptionally involved member of the Wayne County community, Rans Rowe serves the Good News Habitat for Humanity in Richmond as well as the Richmond High School Alumni Board as secretary. Her community involvement also includes working with the Wayne County Fair Board, the Wayne County Youth Center and the Gigham Gals Extension Homemakers Club.

“Sandra is a valued member of our community and truly deserving of this award,” Raatz said. “She continues to devote countless hours to multiple organizations and community groups in Wayne County. Congratulations to Sandra for receiving this award!”

The lieutenant governor’s office accepts nominations each year for the Golden Hoosier Awards. The award recognizes outstanding Hoosiers for their lifetime of service to their communities, and is the highest honor bestowed on those in Indiana who are at least 65 years old.

State Rep. Dick Hamm (R-Richmond) represents House District 56,

which includes portions of Wayne County.

State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond) represents Senate District 27,

which includes all of Randolph, Wayne and Union counties and portions of Dearborn, Franklin and Fayette counties.
