STATEHOUSE (Dec. 19, 2016) — State Rep. Martin Carbaugh (R-Fort Wayne) was recently reappointed to serve as chair of the House Committee on Insurance.
He was also named to the House Committee on Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development and the House Committee on Employment, Labor and Pensions.
“I am eager to get to work on the important issues facing these committees,” Carbaugh said. “Each piece of legislation that comes forth will be closely examined by the members of the committees, and will be thoroughly vetted so the best policy can move through the legislative process. I look forward to fostering communication between the citizens of Indiana as well as experts on each bill.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 4, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2017 legislative session.
