STATEHOUSE (Feb. 7, 2017) – State Reps. Martin Carbaugh (R-Fort Wayne) and Dave Heine (R-New Haven) honored members of the Concordia Lutheran High School Cadets football team with a House resolution.
The Cadets won the state football championship in their first appearance in the state title game, and also set eight championship game records and tied four others.
“Concordia Lutheran High School holds a special place in my heart since I went to school there and my daughter will be graduating from there,” Carbaugh said. “As a family, we are always at their games and it was inspiring to see them not only set these records, but also win their very first state championship.”
Heine said that every team that represents Concordia Lutheran High School sets an example of how a Hoosier athlete should perform in front of their fans on and off the field.
“It was great seeing an Allen County football team being honored at the Statehouse,” Heine said. “They are a great example that hard work and dedication pay off in the end. I wish them the best of luck in the future as the student athletes look to achieve even greater goals.”
