STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) — State Rep. Woody Burton (R-Whiteland) will be serving as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight.
In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.
“The Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight committee is charged with approving changes to public pension programs and reviewing data presented by the State Board of Accounts,” Burton said. “This committee plays a critical role in maintaining our public pension plans so that hardworking Hoosiers are able to save for and enjoy retirement.”
Burton said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.
Burton will also serve on the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance and the Military Base Planning Council.
