STATEHOUSE (Dec. 15, 2022) — State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) recently received appointments to serve as a member of three key House committees.
Borders will serve on the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, the House Insurance Committee and the House Local Government Committee. He was also reappointed as an Assistant Majority Whip, a House Republican leadership position.
"I look forward to continuing my support for hardworking Hoosiers, small-business owners and economic development opportunities," Borders said. "Serving on the insurance committee, I fully expect to continue conversations about how we can work together to lower health care costs, which continue to grow at an unsustainable pace."
House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms.
House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for the first day of the 2023 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.
Borders encourages constituents to visit in.gov/h45 to see updates about what’s happening at the Statehouse throughout the legislative session and beyond.
