STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Government.
In the upcoming months, the committee will consider the costs and benefits of annual publication requirements for cities and towns, and work to provide suggestions for consolidating and revising statutes required for state and local government public works projects.
“During the summer, we will work together to gather information on each assigned topic,” Borders said. “We will then use that research to decide if new legislation should be offered. Members of each committee listen to expert witnesses and the public on possible policy changes.”
Borders said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
Borders was also selected to serve on the President Benjamin Harrison Conservation Trust Project Committee.
