STATEHOUSE (Dec. 20, 2016) — State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) was recently selected to serve as vice chair of the House Committee on Local Government.

He was also named to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and Public Safety and the House Committee on Insurance.

“Committees play a necessary and important role in the legislative process,” Borders said. “Members of the public are encouraged to attend any committee meeting, and I hope to gather input to help make the best decisions while serving as vice chair on the House Committee on Local Government.”

Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 4, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2017 legislative session.
