STATEHOUSE (March 28, 2016) — State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) congratulates the Wolf Farm in Greene County for its designation as a Hoosier Homestead award recipient for 100 years of family farm ownership.
“It’s truly remarkable for a family to operate a farm for 100 years,” Borders said. “Farming is much more than an occupation; it’s a way of life for many Hoosiers.”
The Hoosier Homestead Award Program recognizes farms that have been owned and maintained by the same family for 100 years or more. The Wolf Farm has been in operation since 1884.
Two awards ceremonies are held each year, in the spring and summer, to commemorate the achievements of farmers across the state. For more information on the Hoosier Homestead Award Program, visit www.in.gov/isda/2337.htm.
Rep. Borders (R-Jasonville) represents all of Sullivan County and portions of Vigo, Greene, Knox and Daviess counties.
