STATEHOUSE (Oct. 5, 2016) — State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and fellow Republican members of the Indiana House of Representatives are seeking interns for the upcoming 2017 legislative session, which runs from January through April.
“Interning with the House of Representatives provides students opportunities to learn more about state government while building their resumes,” Borders said. “Former interns have gone on to work as full-time staff in the legislature, state agencies and in the private sector.”
College sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, law students and recent graduates are eligible to apply. Benefits include a bi-weekly compensation of $700 and opportunities to earn college credits and a scholarship.
Borders said these are full-time positions, Monday through Friday, with a typical work day starting at 8:30 a.m.
Internships are available in various departments, including legislative, communications, technology, fiscal policy and policy.
