STATEHOUSE (Sept. 21, 2017) – Local communities will receive state matching grants to improve roads and bridges, according to State Rep. Greg Beumer (R-Modoc).
More than $150 million was awarded to Indiana cities, towns and counties through the Community Crossings grant program, which is now in the second year. The grants are available through the Indiana Department of Transportation as a result of legislation supported by Beumer in 2016.
“These grants help our local communities move forward with important road and bridge projects,” Beumer said. “A strong infrastructure is not only the foundation to a strong economy, but necessary to maintain motorist safety.”
Delaware County will receive $662,880. In addition, various communities in Delaware, Jay and Randolph counties will be awarded grants:

Projects eligible for funding through Community Crossings include road and bridge preservation, road reconstruction, intersection improvements, small structure replacements, guardrail replacements and signs.
