STATEHOUSE (March 21, 2022) – State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus) and State Rep. Sean Eberhart (R-Shelbyville) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program.
According to Lauer, the students toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and joined lawmakers on the House floor to witness the legislative process.
"This is a great experience for students to go behind the scenes and learn more about how state government works," Lauer said. "I encourage more young Hoosiers to come to the Statehouse next session and be a page for a day."
These area students served as pages during the 2022 legislative session:
"Serving as a page is a unique educational opportunity that gives students an early taste of state government," Eberhart said. "I always enjoy watching young Hoosiers explore the Statehouse, and this program truly is a rewarding experience for both students and legislators."
Eberhart said students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating during the 2023 session.
