STATEHOUSE (Nov. 28, 2017) – State Rep. Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) was recently appointed to serve on three standing committees for the Indiana House of Representatives.
Bartels was named to the House Committee on Natural Resources, the House Committee on Family, Children and Human Affairs, and the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and Public Safety.
“I am eager to contribute to my assigned committees, using my background in law enforcement and military service as a guide,” Bartels said. “It is important to continue keeping Hoosiers safe, and finding ways to serve Indiana’s veterans and first responders.”
Standing committees meet during the legislative session, and hearings typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis and can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov.
Bartels encourages Hoosiers to attend the annual Statehouse Prayer Service at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 3. House lawmakers will then convene at 1:30 p.m. for the first day of the 2018 legislative session.
State Rep. Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) represents House District 74,
which includes portions of Spencer, Dubois, Perry, Crawford and Orange counties.
