STATEHOUSE (July 28, 2020) — Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center in Wayne County recently received the Governor’s Century Business Award recognizing their longstanding service in the community, according to State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond).
"To keep an organization up and running for over a century is nothing short of an incredible accomplishment, especially for those that give back to the community in such a big way," Barrett said. "Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center has helped countless children in our area over the decades. We are fortunate to have them supporting our youth."
According to Barrett, Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center was recognized for remaining in continuous operation in Indiana for 141 consecutive years and demonstrating a commitment to serving the community.
The 76 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
