STATEHOUSE (April 26, 2023) – State Rep. Beau Baird (R-Greencastle) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2023 legislative session.
As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Baird on the House floor to witness and learn about the legislative process.
"Visiting the Statehouse to page is a great way for students to get a firsthand civics lesson," Baird said. "I appreciate young Hoosiers taking an interest in state government and encourage others to apply to participate next session."
Greencastle students John Norris, who is homeschooled, and Mary Norris, who attends Indiana Connections Academy, served as pages during the 2023 legislative session.
Baird said students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2024 legislative session.
