STATEHOUSE (Dec. 19, 2019) – State Rep. Beau Baird (R-Greencastle) recently met with all of the Putnam County school superintendents followed by visits to Putnam County schools to meet with students and educators ahead of the 2020 legislative session.
“The purpose of these visits, is two-fold, in that I want to maintain and continue education conversations with our local schools, both with teachers and administrators,” Baird said. “But also, these visits are about reminding everyone I’m available right here in the community to hear their perspective and be a voice for them.”
At Cloverdale Elementary and Middle schools, Baird led the Pledge of Allegiance and visited students, teachers and administrators. He also led the Pledge of Allegiance at South Putnam MS/HS and toured the facility with Principal Levi Yowell.
At North Putnam High School, Baird met with teachers to discuss pay, testing and other topics. He also visited the Area 30 Career Center – a program in Greencastle that provides career and technical education to high school students and adults – to meet with Director Lora Busch and Laura Elsbrock, who is the adult education coordinator and instructor.
Baird was energized and impressed by the bright and talented students he met during his visits.
“The day further solidified in my mind what a fantastic job our teachers and administrators are performing to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for our students,” he said.
Baird can be reached by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 800-382-9841.
