STATEHOUSE (April 12, 2017) – The Midwestern Legislative Conference Health and Human Services Committee names State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) as its newest member.

Members of the committee meet with colleagues from neighboring Midwestern states to study a variety of issues, from health care and wellness, to services for those who are poverty stricken and living with a disability.

“As a member of this committee, I will learn about health policies in other states and be able to determine if they should be implemented in Indiana,” Bacon said. “This opportunity allows me to use my experience working in the medical field as a tool in creating legislative ideas to continue to move Indiana forward.”

Bacon said those serving on the Health and Human Services Committee will meet in Des Moines, Iowa, for its 72nd annual summer meeting.

The Midwestern Legislative Conference is a region-based organization fostering interstate exchange of ideas to help state officials shape public policy and collaborate and create problem-solving partnerships. There are 11 states in the Midwest region including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
