STATEHOUSE (Nov. 30, 2018) – State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) was recently appointed to serve as chair of the House Interstate and International Cooperation Committee.

In 2016, Bacon was first appointed as a member of the committee, which works with neighboring state governments to resolve issues that cross state lines.

“The interstate and international cooperation committee works on advancing legislation that helps Hoosier businesses connect with other states, and stay competitive on the national and international level,” Bacon said. “With the close proximity of our area to the Ohio River, there is a lot of opportunity for interstate collaboration. I am excited for this new responsibility and eager to begin serving in this role.”

Standing committee appointments are made biennially after each election. Committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
