STATEHOUSE (July 1, 2019) — State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) will serve as vice chair of the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.
According to Bacon, the commission is tasked with creating effective communication, cooperation and partnerships between the federal, state and local units of government to improve the delivery of services to citizens. The commission provides a forum to plan for and address problems that may arise as greater demands are made on state and local governments.
“This summer I will join other lawmakers to investigate ways that Indiana can improve communication between different units of government,” Bacon said. “I believe government should work for the people, and we have an obligation to ensure we provide important services constituents need without unnecessarily expanding the size of government.”
Bacon said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
