STATEHOUSE (Oct. 5, 2017) – State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) was recently named Legislator of the Year by the Indiana State Chiropractic Association for his work advocating for chiropractic services to be reimbursed under the Healthy Indiana Plan.
During the 2017 legislative session, Bacon pushed for chiropractic services to be covered under HIP 2.0, the state’s health insurance program for low-income, able-bodied adults. With the governor’s approval, these services will be included in next HIP 2.0 waiver.
“Chiropractors offer services that can greatly improve patients’ quality of life, particularly for those with spine-related problems,” Bacon said. “As a healthcare professional, it’s an honor to support the chiropractic profession and help ensure that all Hoosiers can have access to this quality care.”
The award was presented during the 2017 ISCA Fall Conference in Carmel, Indiana.
The Indiana State Chiropractic Association represents the chiropractic profession on state and national levels and works to promote related contributions to quality health care.
State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) represents House District 75,
