STATEHOUSE (Feb. 2, 2026) – John Deere recently broke ground on a new distribution center expected to bring around 150 jobs to Lake County, according to State Rep. Michael Aylesworth (R-Hebron).
The 1.2 million square-foot facility will sit on over 230 acres near Hebron off I-65 in Lake County. John Deere, which is investing $125 million in the facility, chose the location to enhance its national supply chain capabilities. Once complete, John Deere anticipates the facility will provide approximately 150 jobs to the surrounding communities. The company noted Indiana's workforce and central location as reasons for expanding here.
"Indiana is a prime location for new and expanding businesses to bolster our growing economy," Aylesworth said. "I am excited to see more jobs come to our area and for a brand as iconic as John Deere to plant roots here."
Once complete, the facility will provide parts for the company's U.S.-based ag, turf, construction, forestry, mining and turf customers.
Over the next 10 years, John Deere plans to invest almost $20 billion in its U.S. manufacturing operations.
