STATEHOUSE (Dec. 6, 2018) – State Rep. Michael Aylesworth (R-Hebron) was recently selected to serve as vice chair of the House Environmental Affairs Committee.
Aylesworth was also reappointed to the House Local Government Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee.
“Committees play a vital role in the legislative process,” Aylesworth said. “As meetings are held and input is gathered, committees give lawmakers additional opportunities to hear from the public and learn more about the issues brought before them. As important topics come up this session, I look forward to working with my colleagues to help move Indiana forward.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 3, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
Standing committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
