STATEHOUSE (Oct. 1, 2020) – State Rep. Michael Aylesworth (R-Hebron) encourages local residents to register to vote or check their registration status before the Oct. 5 deadline using the state's online voter portal at IndianaVoters.com.
"The October deadline is quickly approaching, so I wouldn't delay registering any longer," Aylesworth said. "It doesn't take much time and can be done conveniently online, and you can also see who is on the ballot this upcoming Election Day."
Aylesworth said Hoosiers can also go to IndianaVoters.com ahead of the deadline to verify their registration is active and update the personal information in their voter record. Once completed, registration forms can be submitted online, or printed and mailed or hand delivered to the county voter registration official or the Indiana Election Division.
To register, Indiana residents must be at least 18 years old on or before Nov. 3, have a valid Indiana Driver's License or Indiana State Identification Card, be a citizen of the United States, have lived in the same precinct for at least 30 days before Nov. 3, and not be currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime. Those who do not have a driver's license or state ID can register to vote in person at county government centers, public assistance offices and when completing a Bureau of Motor Vehicles transaction.
In-person early voting begins Oct. 6, and Aylesworth said the state is providing masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectants to local election officials to protect poll workers, election staff and voters.
