STATEHOUSE (March 28, 2016) — State Rep. Lloyd Arnold (R-Leavenworth) congratulates the Kathryn Meyer family from Spencer County for their designation as a Hoosier Homestead Award recipient and 100 years of family farm ownership.
“Indiana’s agricultural industry contributes greatly to our economy,” Arnold said. “Owning a farm for more than a century is a significant milestone and I am proud to honor a local family who is truly worthy of this recognition.”
The Hoosier Homestead Award Program recognizes farms that have been owned and maintained by the same family for 100 years or more. The Meyer Farm has been in operation since 1908.
Two awards ceremonies are held each year, in the spring and summer, to commemorate the achievements of farmers across the state. For more information on the Hoosier Homestead Award Program, visit www.in.gov/isda/2337.htm.
Rep. Arnold (R-Leavenworth) represents portions of Spencer, Dubois, Perry, Crawford and Orange counties.
