STATEHOUSE (Dec. 20, 2024) – With the next legislative session quickly approaching, local lawmakers encourage Hoosiers to take their online surveys and offer feedback on important issues.

To start, Hoosiers should visit their state representative's webpage and click on the "Take My Survey" button.

Allen County representatives' webpages include:

  • State Rep. Martin Carbaugh (R-Fort Wayne), House District 81, in.gov/h81;
  • State Rep. Dave Heine (R-Fort Wayne), House District 85, in.gov/h85;
  • State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne), House District 83, in.gov/h83; or
  • State Rep. Bob Morris (R-Fort Wayne), House District 84, in.gov/h84.

"I encourage Hoosiers to take a moment to voice their opinions and share their perspectives on the issues they feel need attention," Carbaugh said. "Along with questions, there's a section on these surveys for constituents to leave comments."

To complete online surveys, Hoosiers must be a resident of the district and submit it by the Dec. 31 deadline. Constituents can check which House district they reside in by visiting the Indiana General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov, clicking on "Find Your Legislator" on the homepage and entering a home address. Constituents can also expect to receive or may have already received a copy of their state representative's survey mailer in their mailbox.

"I suggest Hoosiers in House District 85 take a few minutes to complete and provide feedback on the 2025 issue survey," Heine said. "This is a great chance to share your priorities and ensure your voice helps shape the work being done for our community at the Statehouse."

"These surveys provide an excellent opportunity for Hoosiers to share their viewpoints and influence the policies we evaluate," Judy said. "Your input is important, and I urge you to get involved."

The 2025 legislative session begins Jan. 8 and must conclude by April 29. Hoosiers can follow session proceedings at iga.in.gov, where they can find information on proposed legislation and watch livestreams of committee hearings and session.

"I value the responses from Hoosiers who share their thoughts on the key issues affecting Allen County and our state," Morris said. "Survey responses offer an insight that guides me in making informed decisions on legislation."

Hoosiers also can stay updated during the legislative session by signing up for their legislator's email newsletter at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com and entering their email address under "Subscribe to eNews," or by calling 317-232-9600.
