STATEHOUSE (Oct. 4, 2019) — State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) was recently appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee.

“I hope to take the experiences and what I’ve learned while serving on this committee, along with my many years serving as an elected official in local government, and use them to help guide me in this new role,” Abbott said. “Our state is ranked at the top of the nation in regulatory environment and I’d like to continue that trend. Our history of cutting red tape and streamlining state government has served Indiana well.”

Abbott also serves on the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee and House Natural Resources Committee.

Standing committees meet during the legislative session, which convenes each year in January. Committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
