Abbott: $2.4M awarded to local communities to improve infrastructure

STATEHOUSE (April 15, 2019) — Local communities recently received more than $2.4 million in state matching grants, according to State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City).

The Community Crossing Matching Grant Program has provided nearly $500 million to cities, towns and counties across Indiana to make improvements to local roads and bridges.

“This program will assist our communities in fixing and maintaining our infrastructure,” Abbott said. “These investments will allow local business to grow and improve travel throughout our area.”

According to Abbott, the Indiana Department of Transportation selected these communities to receive grants:

Albion                                 $804,750
Avilla                                   $656,250
Noble County                     $1 million

An additional $100 million will be available for communities to apply for this summer.
