STATEHOUSE — State Rep. David Frizzell(R-Indianapolis) attended the fifth meeting of the Select Commission on Education this past Monday.  The commission discussed whether a school corporation that accepts transfer students may establish a transfer acceptance policy or limit student transfers in a manner that differs from the acceptance policy for students who have a legal settlement in the school corporation.
 
“I cannot stress enough how important the work being done by the commission is on matters of education for all Hoosiers” said Rep. Frizzell.  “Making educational opportunities more accessible and improving education as a whole is vitally important to the lives of all Hoosier children”.

The commission is comprised of Republicans and Democrats from both the House and Senate.
 
The commission will meet four more times throughout the year and discuss a variety of different to discuss topics pertaining to education. The next committee meeting will take place July 31st.
 
“Receiving a world-class education is fundamental in ensuring Hoosier children are given the chance to become well-informed and productive members of society,” said Rep. Frizzell.
