Rep. Steuerwald appointed to leadership position
STATEHOUSE— House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) has announced committee members for the Indiana House Republican caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) has been appointed to the leadership role of Assistant Majority Caucus Chair. The duties of the role include assisting in the management of personnel, operation and organization of the House Majority Caucus.
“It is truly an honor to serve in a leadership role. I am thankful to Speaker Bosma for appointing me to the position of Assistant Majority Caucus Chair, and I look forward to serving the legislature and my community in this capacity,” said Rep. Steuerwald.
Rep. Steuerwald has also been chosen as chairman of the Judiciary Committee as well as the Statutory Committee on Ethics. He will serve as a committee member on the Courts and Criminal Code Committee and Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“This session, there will be many key issues brought before the Judiciary Committee. These issues will impact Hoosiers, and as the chairman, I will examine each piece of legislation to make sure that it will benefit Indiana and our community,” said Rep. Steuerwald.
Rep. Steuerwald (R-Avon) represents portions of Hendricks County. Rep. Steuerwald is Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the Statutory Committee on Ethics and also serves on the Courts and Criminal Code Committee and Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.
