Rep. Sullivan: Honoring our Veterans

Dear friends,

Happy Veterans Day! This national holiday is dedicated to honoring U.S. veterans of all wars and recognizing those who have fought to protect our freedom.

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Indiana is home to 476,000 veterans.

To properly celebrate these Hoosiers, I have spoken to several local veterans regarding how they would like to see the community celebrate Veterans Day. Each one provided me with a simple, yet honest answer: they wanted Americans to showcase their patriotism by proudly displaying the American flag.

To be sure that you properly display and care for your flag, click here. If you do not have a flag and would like to purchase one that has been flown over the Indiana Statehouse feel free to contact me at h78@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9671.

I hope each of you finds a way to display your patriotism this Veterans Day. It's important that we stand up for our men and women in uniform, and their families who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom. We are so blessed to live in a country where our rights are guaranteed and power belongs to the people.

Sincerely,
State Rep. Holli Sullivan
