Local farmer to be honored at Indiana State Fair

The operators of 17 farms from across the state have been chosen to represent the "Year of the Farmer" at this summer's Indiana State Fair. To honor and celebrate their contributions to our agricultural industry, each day of the fair will recognize a farmer or farm family who represent different segments of Indiana agriculture.

I am proud to say that Dan Wehr, a tree and hardwood farm operator from Jasper, will be honored on Tuesday, August 18.

Indiana's rich agricultural heritage has been shaped by the hard work and dedication of Dan Wehr and all of the hardworking farmers and farm families that will be featured throughout the fair. It is because of their commitment to agriculture, which is vital to our economy, that we can continue to build upon our state's strong fiscal foundation.

The Indiana State Fair is scheduled for August 7-23. For a list of all the farmers and farm families being recognized, please click here.
