Occupation: Funeral director and small business owner

State Rep. Mark Genda serves House District 41, which includes portions of Boone, Clinton, Montgomery and Tippecanoe counties. He was first elected as a state representative in 2022.

Born and raised in Clinton County, he has established himself as the former owner of Genda Funeral Homes in Flora, Frankfort, Rossville and Mulberry for over 30 years. He also owns Genda Rentals in Frankfort.  Genda earned a degree from Worsham College of Mortuary Science after graduating from Frankfort High School. He has been a licensed funeral director in the state of Indiana for 37 years.

Previously, Genda served two terms on the Community Schools of Frankfort Board of Trustees where he served as president. He has also been involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Clinton County, Frankfort Optimist Club, Mulberry Community Club, Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, Paul Phillippe Resource Center and several other organizations. Genda especially enjoyed his time as a board member and cast member with the Red Barn Theatre and Clinton County Civic Theatre. He also has lifetime memberships with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #69 and the National Rifle Association.

In his free time, Genda enjoys hunting, riding his Harley, camping, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Genda resides in Frankfort with his life partner, Erin, and is a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church where he has held leadership roles.
