State Representative Jim Pressel is a small-business owner and president of the Indiana Builders Association. A graduate of LaPorte High School, Pressel currently owns and operates Pressel Enterprises Inc., a small business building and remodeling residential homes.
Pressel is also active within his community, he helped jump start the building trades program at New Prairie High School. This program gives students the opportunity to get out of the classroom and gain hands-on experience in crafting and building structures to prepare them for the skills needed on their future job site.
Pressel and his wife Rebecca have two children and grandchildren.
House District 20 is comprised of large portions of Starke and LaPorte counties in northwestern Indiana.

Our community lost a great citizen nearly three years ago. Jake West seemed like any other healthy teenager, but had an undetected heart condition that led to him collapsing during football practice. In his memory, the Play for Jake Foundation was established to create awareness and educate parents and youth about the dangers of undetected heart conditions.
