State Rep. Alex Zimmerman took the oath of office in July 2023 to represent House District 67, which includes portions of Decatur, Jefferson, Jennings and Ripley counties.
Zimmerman is an attorney and owns a private law practice in North Vernon. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and previously served in several roles with the Indiana Senate, including as legislative assistant, majority legal associate and deputy majority attorney.
He resides in North Vernon with his wife, Kayla, who is also an attorney, and their son, Liam.

Note to the Press – State Rep. Alex Zimmerman (R-North Vernon) issued the following statement in response to the Indiana Department of Transportation's announcement to cancel plans for the Link 101 Corridor Project. The project would have created a continuous north-south connection between the Markland Dam Bridge and U.S. 50, and impacted Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties. Zimmerman represents a portion of four southeast Indiana counties including Ripley County and serves as a member of the House Roads and Transportation Committee. During the 2024 legislative session, Zimmerman authored two amendments, which ultimately failed, but would have prevented federal funding from supporting the Link 101 project and required INDOT to consider improving existing infrastructure before proposing a new state highway.
