Indiana House Republicans are hitting the ground running for a 2026 legislative session focused on lowering costs for Hoosier families, reducing unnecessary government and growing our economy.
House Republican priorities build on Indiana's strong track record of success while tackling some of the highest costs facing Hoosiers.
Indiana's GDP is growing at a faster rate than all neighboring states, and we are one of only 15 states currently experiencing economic expansion and growth. We've also cut taxes for Hoosiers every year over the last decade, including reducing Indiana's income tax rate to one of the lowest rates in the nation with continued cuts this year and next.
We’re focused on continuing this progress, while prioritizing affordability for Hoosiers. One of our key focus areas this year is reducing housing costs. This legislation would reduce costly regulations on housing that impede development to expand supply and drive down costs of home ownership.
Other priority bills include legislation to tackle utility costs, eliminate unnecessary red tape in education and streamline government by addressing redundant or inactive boards that waste taxpayer funds.
