Note to the Press – State Reps. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) and Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis) provided the following statements today after Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosier taxpayers:
STATEHOUSE (June 9, 2022) – “This session I supported the largest tax cut in state history along with an automatic taxpayer refund for Hoosiers. When the state takes in more than it needs, I believe it's only right to return that money to those who earned it. Now, we are once again in a position to return more money to Hoosiers, and I look forward to returning to the Statehouse to provide additional inflationary relief," said State Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis).
"I fully support the governor's call for a special session. We have a strong track record of returning money to Hoosiers, and another automatic taxpayer refund would provide needed relief at a time when costs are soaring. I stand ready to act quickly to do what's right by Hoosiers," said State Rep. Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis).
