STATEHOUSE (April 16, 2019) — Local communities recently received more than $1.5 million in state matching grants to improve roads and bridges, according to State Rep. Denny Zent (R-Angola).
The Community Crossing Matching Grant Program, established in 2016 by legislation Zent supported, has provided nearly $500 million to cities, towns and counties across Indiana to make improvements to local roads and bridges.
“Regular upkeep of our local roadways is essential to keeping our community running smoothly and efficiently,” Zent said. “This investment will help ensure that our area has a strong infrastructure for years to come.”
According to Zent, the Indiana Department of Transportation selected Angola to receive $539,851, with Steuben County receiving $999,903 for local projects.
An additional $100 million will be available for communities to apply for this summer.
