Young sworn in as state representative for House District 47

STATEHOUSE (Nov. 22, 2016) – Member-elect John Young (R-Franklin) took the oath of office today, officially becoming the state representative of House District 47.

Young was sworn in by Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush in the Indiana House Chamber. He was elected to fill the seat vacated by John Price.

“I am excited to represent the people of House District 47,” Young said. “I will keep the best interests of my constituents in mind and use my experience practicing law to make informed decisions when voting for policies affecting our community and state.”

Young graduated from Indian Creek High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Indiana University and his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University.
