STATEHOUSE (Dec. 11, 2020) – State Rep. Ann Vermilion (R-Marion) was recently appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.
She will also serve on the House Public Health Committee and the House Elections and Apportionment Committee.
Vermilion, a health care and public health consultant, said she will use her experience to help guide her as she examines state policies impacting Hoosier families.
"While Indiana is the number one state for adoptions and our infant mortality rate continues to decline, there is always more than can be done to strengthen our communities," Vermilion said. "As we hear testimony, gather facts and review legislation impacting Hoosier families and our health, I will work diligently to support sound policies helping our state continue to be a great place to call home."
As a member of the House Elections and Apportionment Committee, Vermilion will also play a key role in drawing legislative and congressional boundaries based on 2020 Census data.
She said House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 4.
