STATEHOUSE (March 11, 2019) – State Rep. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) recently welcomed student pages to the Statehouse.

As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers, and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Lyness to learn more about the legislative process:

  • Clayton Ellis, from Guilford, attends East Central High School;
  • Emily Garcia, from West Harrison, attends East Central High School;
  • Hannah Greene, from Lawrenceburg, attends East Central High School;
  • Luke Klare, from Guilford, attends St. John the Baptist;
  • Zach Lyness, from Guilford, attends Sunman Dearborn Middle School;
  • Sam Mahoney, from Guilford, attends Oldenburg Academy;
  • Dylan Maxwell, from Guilford, attends Sunman Dearborn Middle School;
  • Ian Maxwell, from Guilford, attends Sunman Dearborn Middle School; and
  • Moses Wheat, from Guilford, attends Sunman Dearborn Middle School.

“It is great to see young people interested in participating in state government,” Lyness said. “The page program is an excellent opportunity for students to get hands-on experience with the legislative process and see how our laws are made.”

Students between the ages of 13 to 18 who are interested in paging this legislative session can learn more and sign up at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram. Participants receive an excused absence from school and groups can request to page together.
