STATEHOUSE (April 8, 2019) – State Rep. Cindy Kirchhofer (R-Beech Grove) recently welcomed local student pages to the Statehouse.

As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers, and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Kirchhofer to learn more about the legislative process:

  • Madisyn Covington, from Indianapolis, attends New Palestine Junior High School;
  • Blake Folger, from Indianapolis, attends Suburban Christian School;
  • Carter Folger, from Indianapolis, attends Suburban Christian School;
  • Connor McIlvaine, from Indianapolis, attends St. Simon the Apostle School;
  • Evan Shaw, from Indianapolis, attends Warren Central High School;
  • Evelyn Stephenson, from Indianapolis, attends Creston Middle School; and
  • Elena Wood, from Beech Grove, attends New Palestine Junior High School.

“The page program is an incredible opportunity for students to see first-hand how a bill becomes a law and better understand their state government,” Kirchhofer said. “I always enjoy seeing people from our community at the Statehouse.”

Kirchhofer said students aged 13 to 18 should consider participating as a page during the 2020 session. For more information, visit
