INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 12, 2016) – State Rep. Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomington) was appointed by House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) to serve on three House committees.

Ellington will now serve on the Interstate and International Cooperation, Public Policy and Natural Resources committees. “It is an honor to have been selected to these important committees, and I am looking forward to working on issues which will impact Hoosiers,” Ellington said. “This session, I am eager to help lead discussions on many of the critical issues facing our community and state.”

Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process.  During meetings, public testimony is given and details of proposed legislation are discussed before possibly being considered by all members of the House.
