STATEHOUSE (July 22, 2020) — Several Shelby County businesses recently received the Governor’s Half Century or Century Business awards recognizing their longstanding service in the community, according to State Rep. Sean Eberhart (R-Shelbyville).
"As a small-business owner, I know the hard work and determination needed to keep a company up and running," Eberhart said. "To do so for decades is a great accomplishment. Congratulations to each of these recipients, and I wish them continued success for many more years to come."
According to Eberhart, these Shelby County businesses were recognized for remaining in continuous operation in Indiana for at least 50 or 100 consecutive years and demonstrating a commitment to serving the community:
The 76 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
