STATEHOUSE (March 27, 2017) — State Rep. Denny Zent’s (R-Angola) bill helping military families when relocating to Indiana could soon become law.
Zent said under this proposal, the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency is required to expedite the issuance or renewal of licenses, certificates, registrations or permits to military spouses.
“This bill will especially facilitate the licensing process for military families stationed in Indiana,” Zent said. “By requiring the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency to expedite the issuance or renewal of licenses, certifications, registrations or permits to military spouses, we can help supplement a military family’s income. Overall, the various provisions in this bill help all Hoosiers with clearer and simpler licensure procedures.”
According to Zent, this legislation would help a military spouse that is a licensed nurse, for example, coming from another state that needs to be licensed in Indiana. This legislation would help expedite the licensing process so they can start working sooner.
State Rep. Denny Zent (R-Angola) represents House District 51, which
includes most of LaGrange and Steuben counties.
