STATEHOUSE (April 11, 2016) — State Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) recently welcomed a group of fourth graders from Hagerstown Elementary School to the Statehouse.

“As a state representative, I always enjoy hosting students from schools across the district,” Saunders said. “It is a great privilege to be able to show children how state government functions and to give them a firsthand look at the capitol building.”

The Hagerstown students toured the Statehouse, including the Indiana Supreme Court and both the House and Senate chambers. Saunders spoke to the classes on the House floor about his legislative duties and the process in which a bill becomes law.

Rep. Saunders (R-Lewisville) represents Henry County and portions of Rush and Wayne counties.
