Saunders to serve on Roads, Transportation summer study committee

STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) — State Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) will be serving on the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.

“As a member of the summer study committee on roads, I will be working alongside my colleagues to discuss and review issues concerning the feasibility of seat belts on school buses and specialty license plates,” Saunders said.

Saunders said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.

Saunders will also serve on the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations and the Lewis and Clark Expedition Commission.
