STATEHOUSE (May 19, 2016) — State Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) honored Knightstown Elementary School teacher Mindy Conklin Wednesday night for her 40 years of dedicated service. Saunders presented a certificate to Conklin at her retirement reception in the Knightstown Community High School cafeteria. The Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation and the Classroom Teachers Association hosted the retirement reception.

“The impact that Mindy has had on our community throughout the past four decades cannot be overstated,” Saunders said. “Her selflessness and devotion to our children will be greatly missed and I am honored to be able to recognize her for her accomplishments.”

Conklin, a native of Carthage, has spent her entire career at Charles A. Beard schools. She has taught fourth grade since 1991 but previously taught second, third, fifth and sixth grades. Conklin’s favorite subject in the classroom is Indiana history and has taken students on field trips to Corydon for nearly 20 years.

Rep. Saunders (R-Lewisville) represents Henry County and portions of Rush and Wayne counties.
