Rep. Zent welcomes student pages to the Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (May 3, 2019) – State Rep. Denny Zent (R-Angola) recently welcomed student pages to the Statehouse.

As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Zent to learn more about the legislative process:

  • William Abbott, from Wolcottville, attends Prairie Heights Middle School;
  • Emma Archbold, from Angola, attends Angola High School; and
  • Samuel Updike, from LaGrange, attends Prairie Heights Middle School.

“I recently met with students from our community visiting the Capitol as student pages,” Zent said. “They showed an interest in the legislative process and assisted staff in their daily tasks. The page program offers young Hoosiers a unique behind-the-scenes experience at the Statehouse.”

Students between the ages of 13 to 18 who are interested in paging during the 2020 session can learn more at Participants receive an excused absence from school and groups can request to page together.
